Dr. Alkonbaz is the COP Chairperson to the UNESCO Convention Against Doping In Sport
Dr. Mohammed Saleh Al-Konbaz, SAADC’s Chairman, was elected as chairperson of the Conference of Parties to the UNESCO for another 2-year term.
This election comes on the margin of the 5th Session of the COP of the International Convention, and on the 10th Anniversary celebration of the International Convention against Doping In Sport at the UNESCO’s headquarter – France, with the presence of the Director-General of UNESCO, and the Permanent Delegate of the Saudi Arabia to the UNESCO Ambassador Ziad Aldrees, in addition to representatives of 167 states around the world.
On the other hand, SAADC held an exhibition on the sideline of the conference with the participation of 4 countries who have distinguished anti-doping programs: France, Japan, Romania, and Saudi Arabia, in addition to WADA and 2 other sport organizations.
The exhibition displayed information about Saudi Arabia, Saudi sports, and the national anti-doping program. Many publications and simple gifts were distributed to the exhibition visitors. It is worth-mentioning that the Saudi Permanent Delegation to the UNESCO helped preparation of the exhibition.
